Update

These are the controls for both characters (Abbey and the Spirit).
The clothing and accessories will reflect previous portrayals of Gods and warriors with a lot of funcional, badass armour and massive capes for dramatic effect.
These are my target audience moodboards with descriptions.
The colours and textures will have heavy use of black and one or 2 dominant colours across the frame. I almost want a moving comic book style but not something that'll detract from the animation so I think the use of colour is the best way to achieve this. The film "300" did something very similar in live action with heavy focus on yellows and reds. There will be a lot of red in the game to give a violent feeling to the world. The colouring will be quite flat with a 2 tone colouring style to save time on animation and to fit the comic book aesthetic.

I want the font in "Hath No Fury" to portray something dark and violent. I immediately thought of the 300 logo as it is a blood splatter. I'm also a fan of the red but I'm not sure if I will use it. The top 2 had a similar style but were Black and White. I also stumbled across a game called Bloodbourne which had a cool Gothic looking font that I will consider.

The illustration style will reflect certain comic books that already exist. One of the biggest style inspirations is Bruce Timm as the style represents detailed characters in a stylized fashion. "Hath No Fury" also applies straights vs curves very similarly to how Timm uses them in his illustrations. There is also an emphasis on strong silhouettes in the art style which I think is captured in the top right image. Also the movie "Dark Knight Returns" As it uses very big, broad shapes to represent its characters. The comic series 300 goes a bit further in detail than the other 2 which I think I want in my game.

This moodboard is for the target audiences' lifestyle and hobbies. My game will appeal to casual gamers who play with friends (since it is now up to 2 players). The gameplay style is very arcade like in its simplicity and physics. It is also for people who like the superhero genre whether that means watching the occasional Avengers movie or cosplaying and going to conventions. I also think it is for people who like comics in general. Again, this is for casual and hardcore fans.

My new story involves the Spirit becoming the Spirit of justice and having to fight the Spirit of hatred who spawns from him. I did some concepts and I liked the bottom 2.

I wanted to figure out what the Spirit looks like under the hood because my drawings of him got very inconsistent.

I have changed the story so that you can play after what used to be the original ending. This involves Abbey transforming into an angel or some kind of Spirit for good.
I ended up going for a lankier look

I did some concepts for abbey but I wasn't happy with how she was looking
