Groot from "Guardians of The Galaxy" (left), The Penguin from "Batman" (middle) and Jaunty from "Shadowman (right).
They didn't really look like anything I wanted but I think they could be good starting points to build upon.

I also threw together a moodboard of what I wanted Hell to look like as I still wanted my main character to be from hell. I was heavily inspired by The Game and film "Dante's Inferno" and the artwork of zdzisław beksiński which gave an eerie feeling which I wanted to capture in my own version of Hell. The image next to the 9 circles of hell with the dog-like creature really got me thinking about the landscape of hell and the kind of beings who would inhabit it.

With themes of Justice and vengeance in mind, I wanted to keep the Queen as the bad guy and make her to be the antithesis of Justice with an underlying compulsion for vengeance. I threw together a mood board with some looks and costume designs like claws, helmets and the type of dress she would wear. I also threw in images of Darth Vader, The Witch King and Frieza as I wanted her personality to reflect these iconic tyrants.
So I looked at the Hero's Journey format for inspiration which motivated me to give the story a re-haul. I also checked out this cool video of a breakdown of Batman, who is someone I wanted my character to be based off of.
I did these concepts for the Hellbound girl in my notebook but began to lose interest in her as a main character and started wanting to move towards something more heroic while still keeping the hellish horror themes that I started with.
